Baking Bread ~ 34/52 ~

[Joining Bella Cirovic at 52 Photos Project - Week 34:  What's Cooking?]

Last Friday was a morning full of baking.  For my son and his classmates.  Thirty children each baked a loaf of bread.  And at the end of the school day, thirty loaves of {still warm} bread were handed to the parents as a gift.  The excitement and pride on each child’s face.  That was gift enough.  But I must admit, our after school snack was positively delicious.

Morning and Evening Reflection ~33/52~

[Joining Bella Cirovic at 52 Photos Project - Week 33:  Morning::Evening]

:: morning ::
at my local coffee house
me time, for some quiet reading
warmed by a latte
and surrounded by silver sparkle

:: evening ::
at stanley park
family and friend time, for a magical train ride
warmed by hot chocolate {with marshmallows}
and surrounded by twinkling lights

:: morning + evening ::
amidst the hustle and bustle
time, to slow down

And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?  It came without ribbons!  It came without tags!  It came without packages, boxes or bags!”  And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.  Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!  “Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.  Maybe Christmas . . . perhaps . . . means a little bit more!”

it wasn’t supposed to be like this
sighs, thick with her judgment
me, doubting myself
yet this grey heaviness still looms
years later
